Getting Organized

They say your room is a reflection of your life, and right now everything is all over the place. Anyone who really knows me knows what a huge slob I am, so one of my resolutions for 2012 is to get more organized. I decided to stop by Bed Bath & Beyond to pick up a couple of items to help get me started. Next up I need to save up for a dresser, which i desperately need.

The Eve of Christmas Eve

The Eve of Christmas Eve was very interesting. Right after work I headed to the secret Santa exchange dinner for the organization I work at. It was fun seeing people from work in a different setting. Elizabeth was my secret Santa and hit the nail on the head with the boots got me. I love them. I wore them when I went out that night (in which I got my wallet stolen, but that's another story) and they were so comfortable!

Seeing as I didnt grow up celebrating Christmas and am not a big fan of the consumerism aspect of it, I do love the getting-together part of it. Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays.

Find(s) of the day: Earrings

Found all of these earrings except for the anchor ones (they're from Good Stuff Thrift) at Thrift Town today. Usually when I get to Thrift Town all the earrings are gone but today they had a lot left. Aren't they lovely? They range from 99¢-$3.

Find(s) of the day: Esate Sale

Found the awesome saddle bag and vintage compact mirror at an estate sale a few blocks away from my house. This man had a huge collection of saddle bags, guitars, cameras, clocks and cowboy boots among other things. He purchased the saddle bag on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley in the 70's. How cool is that? It was only $10, something like that would probably cost no less than $30 at a thrift store plus you get to know the history of the item you're purchasing! I'll have to make sure I stop by more estate sales in the future.

Peter Pan collar

Isn't the collar lovely? I can't get over how much I love this blouse.

I went to Thrift town today and found some really awesome stuff. There was a reoccurring theme of polka dots in my purchases today that I shall make a post about later this week. Now I'm going to watch The League and go to sleep. Goodnight!

Best Coast

Best Coast played a free show at a windows phone event in San Francisco yesterday. Fernando and I had to wait 2 hours in the freezing cold but we made it in!

la mission

Went to the mission today with Cristina and her sisters. We stopped by Thrift town but since it was almost closing we didn't get to look around much and a lot of things were already gone. Next time I gotta get there earlier, although i did get a shirt and some shoes. I'll post them later :)

Fall

I pulled over on my way to work today just to take this picture. I love fall.

What I wore today: 11/30/11

It is really hard for me to take a serious picture, so don't expect many of those. haha. I feel so awkward when I take these pictures. I never know what to do with my hands. But anyways this is what I'm wearing today, I'm at Barnes and Noble right now and the barista made me the most bland peppermint mocha I have ever tasted. meh. oh well. On another note, I feel like Olivia Newton John from Grease (tell me about it stud) in these pants. But they are seriously the most comfortable pants I've ever worn. I love them!

Black Friday finds

These are a few of the things I got from Goodwill's black Friday sale. I was really excited about the black shirt with the lace collar. I love Goodwill's sales because their clothes are always a bit more pricier than Thrift Town and Good Stuff thrift. I always go to the same thrift stores. I'm thinking up going to the ones in Marin county and San Francisco soon!

$9.99 @ Thrift Town

Just as I was angrily thinking about how thrift stores never have any shoes my size I look up and see these babies. I have been searching for boots like these for a REALLY long time. I was close to buying really overpriced ones at a vintage store on Haight st. once but I just couldn't get myself to pay anything over $50 for used boots. SO what's the moral of the story? Don't give up if there's ever a certain item you're looking for!

Scored this vintage Dior blazer at Goodwill today for $9.99. Now I just have to take it to get dry cleaned so I can wear it!





I also found this really cool velvety blouse with sheer sleeves at Good Stuff Thrift for $5.

Made some $2.99 mom jeans that I found at thrift town into shorts today, too bad I wont be able to wear them for a long time!

Find of the day

Every time I go thrifting there's usually that one item that I'm super excited about, today it was this bag. It opens like a clutch but has straps and most importantly it fits my camera! My only complaint is that the straps are really thin so I'll have to make sure I don't put too many things in it.

Find(s) of the Day: Dresses

Todays mission was to find a dress and I ended up finding 3 among a few other things but the dresses are what I was most excited about. I got all of these at Goodwill, for $10 each. Goodwill in my opinion is pricier than the other 2 thrift stores I frequent but these were all in great condition and probably the most flattering dresses I've ever tried on.


This blue dress needs to be shortened a bit but I can't wait to wear it.
