Bodega Bay

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Bodega Bay on Saturday. We decided to go look for some of the locations (first two photos) shown in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. The church in the second photo was made famous when Ansel Adams photographed it.

My loves and a messy ass room

049
There's not really much I can complain about right now. The weather has been beautiful lately and there's lots of great things to look forward to.

Hitchcock

Fernando and I have been watching nothing but Alfred Hitchcock movies for the past couple of weeks. The Birds was one of my favorite movies when I was younger, but if I had to pick a favorite now it would definitely have to be Psycho. What's your favorite Hitchcock movie?

Vent

Have you ever been so upset that the room started spinning? That happened to me today. I need to get out of this rut and leave this pity party that I've been throwing myself.

Thrift Finds from La Mission

056

I unexpectedly went thrifting yesterday. It had been so long, ever since I quit my other job I've been so low on funds I've been trying to cut down on my spending. Especially since my closet is overflowing with clothes. Yesterday we had such beautiful weather that Fernando and I decided to head over to Dolores Park in San Francisco. Dolores Park is in the Mission district and the Mission district is filled with thrift stores so I couldn't resist myself! I find that I tend to buy a lot of things just because they are cheap but this time I limited myself and ended up buying 5 things that I really love. Quality or quantity is my new rule while thrifting.

More photos of my finds after the jump.

To buy or not to buy? That is the question.

I don't know if I should buy these. I said I wasn't going to spend money but these will last me forever and they're on sale!

What I wore today: 2/12/12

008

This is what I wore to have dinner with my old co-workers. It was so much fun catching up with them. I missed them! It was kinda like my "goodbye" dinner even though I quit over a month ago.

014
Close up of the shoes. I bought them after seeing this post from Kendi Everyday. Please ignore that scab on my ankle, somehow I managed to cut my ankle while shaving my legs.

Blouse: Marshalls
Pants: American Apparel
Flats: Payless

I'm on a roll with these outfit posts! haha

Finally found my tripod mount! Now if only I wasn't so lazy to take these more often. Going to hang out with Fernando and then "babysit" my cousins at 5:30. Should be an interesting day.

I am ashamed

So I went back to Target and everything from the Jason Wu was gone (except for a few shirts that were like XL). So I caved and bought this shirt on Ebay, I'm not proud of it because I absolutely HATE how people buy things with every intention of selling it for double or triple the price. But I couldn't stop thinking about this blouse and I only ended up paying like $10 more including shipping. I think I got pretty lucky because everything else is selling for a ridiculous price!

Ok I need to shut up about this collection now. haha.

Tea Time

Trying to drink more tea, I get tired of just drinking water sometimes.

I'm so over this week and it's only Tuesday.

Review: Freeman's Avocado and Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask

004

Saw this mask for $1.50 a couple of days ago so I picked it up. Those packets of facial masks usually last me for about 3-4 uses. But I probably wont use this mask again. It really dried my skin to the point where it started peeling in some places. So I would probably say only buy this if you have oily skin since my skin tends to be normal/dry.

I really love their cucumber peel mask though!

Jason Wu for Target: Haul

027

Last night I wasn't sure if I wanted to wake up early and go to Target but I set my alarm anyways just in case. I'm really glad I did! I managed to get everything I wanted, although I am kicking myself for putting one item back. OH WELL! I got to my Target at 7:45 and luckily there was no one there.

I'm probably going to go back to Target tomorrow and see if there's anything left. MAYBE i'll get lucky and find that blouse I put back.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Find of the day: Red Loafers

008

018

Found these at Good Stuff Thrift for $5.00 today. I finally had the chance to go to Good Stuff Thrift after not going for over a month! I found a lot of things but these shoes were my favorite, especially since I never find shoes my size.

I finally found my tripod mount BUT I can't find my remote, if it's not one thing it's something else. Oh well! I'm sure i'll find it when I least expect it.

Base and Top Coats

I just wanna say how much I love these two products. Grow stronger, which is a base coat prevents stains and also prevents my brittle nails from breaking so easily. Good to go topcoat has allowed me to buy cheap nail polishes again because now they don't chip as fast. Definitely recommend both.

What I wore today: 1/21/12

It was the last day to use the groupon from American Apparel and what I wanted wasn't in stock in stores anymore so I decided to get the Reversible Easy Sweater. It's so comfortable and surprisingly flattering even though it's baggy. My love for American Apparel has grown within the last few months. Everything I've tried on is so flattering which makes the prices worth it to me.

Close up of this Steve Madden alligator necklace I found at Ross for $5.99.

I misplaced the tripod adapter for my camera so mirror pictures are all I can do right now :(

FOUR EYES!

So I went to the optometrist today since lately I've been having to squint to read, and sure enough I need glasses. I started searching for glasses as soon as I got home and I decided on these.

RX05226_2034

So that makes me a kinda excited to get them now!

The Sweater

068

Found this sweater for $5 at Good Stuff Thrift a long time ago. I'm wearing it today for the first time with my disco pants. I'm trying to wear things that I've never worn because I tend to buy clothes and wait for a "special occasion" to come up but it never does. So from now on I'm not going to wait :)

Find of the day: J.Crew Shorts

012

I went thirfting with Deysi and Imelda yesterday and scored these shorts for only 99¢ at Thrift Town! It was definitely my favorite find of the day. I can't wait to wear them!

Happy New Year!

010

Fernando and I celebrated NYE by ordering pizza, watching Submarine and making this "Bananarama" recipe from Cooking Comically. I ended up falling asleep before midnight, I'm getting old!
